Ian A. Castell D.D.S. was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas where he attended Hanna High School. He graduated in the Top 10 of his high school class and went on to attend the University of Texas at Brownsville (later becoming UT-RGV) where he worked as a resident assistant, tutor, and mentor. It was during Dr. Castell’s early college years that he discovered his passion for dentistry when he began working as a dental assistant in Brownsville, Harlingen, Weslaco, and McAllen. He went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Castell then attended the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston where he conducted research in endodontics (root canal therapy) and graduated in the Top 10 of his class. Dr. Castell is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Rio Grande Valley Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the National Hispanic Medical Association.
When not in the office, Dr. Castell is either spending time with his family and friends, paddle boarding on the bay, enjoying the beach, learning more about dentistry, or performing volunteer work in the community.
Dr. Castell speaks English and Spanish, and he greatly enjoys spending time with his patients and treats them all like family. He makes sure to explain everything thoroughly and leaves no question left unanswered. Dr. Castell first began working in Houston where he earned the nickname “Manos de Angel” (Angel Hands) from his patients, so you can rest assured you are in good hands!
